Staff DevOps Engineer (Platform)

Phantom is a self-custody wallet and financial platform that serves over 20 million active users globally, enabling access to crypto markets, perpetuals, prediction markets, and tokenized assets. As a Staff DevOps Engineer on Phantom's Engineering team, you'll shape the infrastructure that powers releases and deployments for millions of users across mobile and web. You'll own and evolve critical systems that keep developers productive and ensure the reliability of financial products that millions depend on.

Your core responsibilities include

• Own CI/CD infrastructure built on GitHub Actions and Kubernetes, focusing on reliability, scalability and developer speed
• Automate the full mobile release workflow: building, signing, and distributing binaries across iOS, Android and Chrome, including app store submissions
• Oversee end-to-end test automation using Maestro and Playwright for both mobile and web platforms
• Optimize CI/CD pipeline performance, reliability and observability to support rapid, confident releases
• Work with engineering teams to improve developer experience through preview environments, tooling like Appetize, and SDLC improvements
• Establish security and compliance standards for build, release and deployment systems
• Drive technical leadership across build, test, release and deployment workflows in close partnership with product and engineering

You'll bring at least 8 years of DevOps, Platform Engineering, SRE or Systems Engineering experience at a senior or staff level. You need strong expertise with AWS and CI/CD platforms like GitHub Actions or GitLab CI, solid hands-on knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes and Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform or Pulumi, and proven experience supporting production mobile CI/CD infrastructure for iOS and Android. A track record of improving developer workflows, experience in financial services or fintech environments with security and compliance demands, and familiarity with blockchain or crypto is valuable.

Nice to have: React Native and Expo experience, mobile preview environments, or prior work with Appetize.
