Staff Software Engineer (SRE)

As Staff Software Engineer focused on Site Reliability, you'll own critical infrastructure decisions that keep Phantom's platform running at scale. Your day-to-day work spans managing Kubernetes clusters on AWS EKS, implementing Infrastructure-as-Code solutions using Terraform or Pulumi, and optimizing database systems handling terabytes of blockchain data. You'll configure and maintain crypto nodes across multiple blockchain networks (Solana, Ethereum, Polygon, Bitcoin and beyond) that directly support wallet operations. Monitoring and observability are core to your role—you'll use tools like Datadog and OpenTelemetry to ensure system reliability, uptime, and performance. Close collaboration with backend and product teams means your infrastructure decisions directly enable feature launches and user growth.

You bring at least 8 years of hands-on experience in SRE or software engineering roles, with deep production expertise in Kubernetes and EKS specifically. You're comfortable across AWS services including EC2, S3, RDS, and IAM, and you have solid working knowledge of Docker. Infrastructure automation is second nature—you've built and maintained IaC pipelines at scale. You understand monitoring and observability practices and have worked with modern observability platforms.
