Binance Accelerator Program - Data Scientist, Analytics

Binance is the world's largest cryptocurrency exchange by trading volume, serving over 320 million users across 100+ countries. The company operates a comprehensive blockchain ecosystem offering trading, finance, education, payments, institutional services, and Web3 features. You'd be joining Binance as part of the Binance Accelerator Program, a structured 3-6 month internship designed for early-career talent to gain hands-on experience in digital assets and build skills within the crypto industry.

The Risk AI DS team focuses on building detection models that analyze massive volumes of user behavior, fund-flow, and market data to identify risks. Your role centers on taking individual project streams from conception through completion, with possible focus areas including syndicate detection, user behavior sequencing, market manipulation detection, or feature discovery. You'll work with billions of records using PySpark, Hive, and Trino to construct and validate SQL pipelines for feature engineering. You'll develop machine learning models, measure their performance against business metrics like detection rate, false-positive rate, and latency, then iterate based on findings.

To succeed here, you're currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related quantitative field. You have solid grounding in machine learning theory, plus hands-on Python and SQL skills. You're comfortable with database systems like MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, or MongoDB, and ideally have experience working with large datasets using Apache Spark. Experience using AI coding agents such as Claude Code or Cursor to boost your development speed is expected. You're naturally detail-oriented and investigative, diving into data anomalies to find root causes. English fluency is required for coordination with international partners and cross-team collaboration; other languages are advantageous.
