Tamil Linguistic Evaluator & Functional Tester

Welocalize, part of Welo Global, partners with enterprises to deliver AI-powered multilingual content solutions across more than 300 languages. The company uses a combination of artificial intelligence, automation, and human expertise to help global brands scale their operations while maintaining cultural relevance and compliance. For this confidential project with a major technology client, Welocalize is seeking a native-level Tamil speaker to evaluate a pre-release AI model and test its real-world performance.

What you'll do

• Assess the quality of Tamil language output from an AI model, evaluating it for accuracy, naturalness, appropriateness, and whether it reflects how native speakers actually communicate, including verification against source material.

• Compare the Tamil experience directly against the English version to ensure feature parity, complete full user workflows with Tamil input, and verify the product handles non-Latin characters, diacritics, right-to-left text, and multilingual inputs correctly.

• Identify display issues such as text truncation, overflow, or rendering problems, along with localization errors including incorrect dates, numbers, currencies, units, or untranslated strings.

• Document each issue with enough detail for developers to reproduce it, including the exact steps taken, device and operating system specifications, locale settings, build ID, and supporting evidence, then retest after fixes are applied.

• Provide insights as a fluent speaker on navigation, usability, and language-specific nuances that only a native speaker would recognize.

• Work on-site in a secure area of the Welocalize office in Tokyo, as the confidential nature of pre-release technology requires in-person work.

What you'll bring

• Native-level or fully bilingual fluency in Tamil across written and spoken communication, with a current, everyday understanding of how the language is used in both casual and technical contexts.

• Comfort using smartphones and laptops, with familiarity navigating both iOS and Android platforms.

• Strong attention to detail and the ability to assess quality objectively and fairly.

• Independent work habits, the capacity to follow detailed test scripts and guidelines carefully, and clear communication skills in English.

Nice to have

• Previous experience in software testing, app testing, localization quality assurance, or linguistic evaluation.
