Kannada Linguistic Evaluator & Functional Tester

Welocalize, part of the Welo Global family, partners with major technology companies to ensure their products work flawlessly across languages and cultures. This part-time position invites you to evaluate a confidential AI system and test its performance on real devices, all in your native Kannada language.

What you'll do

• Assess the quality of AI-generated Kannada text by evaluating accuracy, naturalness, appropriateness, and whether native speakers would actually use the phrasing you encounter
• Compare how the product functions in Kannada versus English, checking for feature consistency, proper handling of non-Latin scripts and diacritics, and correct behavior with mixed-language input
• Identify and document localization issues including display problems, untranslated strings, and errors in dates, numbers, currencies, or units
• Test the full user experience on both a smartphone and next-generation smart glasses, working across iOS and Android platforms
• Write detailed, reproducible bug reports that include the steps taken, device specifications, operating system, locale, build ID, and supporting evidence
• Verify that fixes work correctly once they're deployed
• Contribute insights about navigation, usability, and language-specific nuances that only a fluent speaker would recognize

What you'll bring

• Native-level or fully bilingual proficiency in Kannada, both written and spoken, with current knowledge of everyday and technical language use
• Comfort using smartphones and laptops with the ability to navigate between iOS and Android
• A meticulous approach to quality assessment and the objectivity to evaluate work fairly
• Strong independent work skills, capacity to follow detailed test scripts, and ability to explain technical issues clearly in English
• An interest in how language and technology intersect

Nice to have

• Prior experience in software testing, localization quality assurance, or linguistic evaluation
