Video Data Annotator

iMerit Technology, part of the EXL family, is hiring Video Data Annotators for a project-based AI training initiative. You'll work remotely from anywhere in the world, reviewing video content and labeling the actions, objects, and events within it according to detailed specifications. This is independent contractor work with flexible scheduling around project availability.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include watching video footage and systematically annotating what appears on screen. You'll identify and tag actions, objects, and events with precision, adhering closely to the guidelines and scoring rubrics provided for each project. You'll need to consistently meet quality standards and productivity targets while flagging any ambiguous or unclear segments for the project team to review. Providing constructive feedback helps improve the annotation framework over time.

We're looking for someone detail-oriented who can maintain accuracy while following complex instructions consistently. Strong written communication matters here, since you'll be documenting your annotations and communicating with the team asynchronously. You should be comfortable working independently without much supervision, managing your own schedule within project windows. Previous experience with annotation, quality assurance, or video review is valuable but not essential. No background in AI is required for this role.

Nice to have: Prior annotation, QA, or video evaluation work on your resume.

What we offer: 100% remote, project-based independent contracting work. You contribute directly to building AI systems while maintaining flexibility around available assignments and your own availability. Work happens on a project-by-project basis rather than a traditional full-time schedule.
