About the role
Crypto.com is a rapidly expanding cryptocurrency platform serving over 150 million users globally, built on security, privacy, and regulatory compliance. The company is seeking a Consumer Compliance Manager to lead and strengthen its U.S. consumer compliance operations. You'll work in a hybrid setup from Chicago, taking ownership of a critical compliance function in a fast-moving fintech environment where you'll build frameworks, conduct audits, and partner across teams to ensure consumer protection standards are met.
What you'll do
- Serve as subject matter expert on Regulation E and UDAAP compliance across all consumer products, including credit, prepaid cards, and digital asset transactions. You'll own the entire U.S. consumer compliance framework and stay current with evolving CFPB, FTC, OCC, and FDIC standards.
- Conduct regular compliance reviews of customer-facing flows, terms of service, disclosures, promotional materials, and product features to identify and mitigate UDAAP risks before they become problems.
- Oversee Reg E error resolution processes, including timelines, root-cause analysis for consumer complaints, and chargeback compliance mechanisms.
- Lead preparation for regulatory examinations and audits by managing project plans, scopes, timelines, and deliverables. You'll also help execute formal remediation efforts when needed.
- Work closely with product, operations, legal, and customer support teams to integrate consumer protection controls into product launches and customer communication workflows.
- Provide secondary support on broader compliance initiatives, including BSA/AML policy alignment, executive reporting, and regulatory submissions.
What you'll bring
- At least 3 years of compliance experience in financial services, fintech, or banking, with demonstrated expertise in Regulation E (electronic fund transfers, error resolution, prepaid card rules) and UDAAP risk frameworks.
- Direct experience managing consumer complaints, conducting UDAAP risk assessments, and refining consumer-facing operational processes.
- A track record supporting regulatory examinations, internal audits, and executing remediation plans in a regulated environment.
- Working knowledge of broader financial regulatory frameworks, including BSA/AML and state consumer protection laws.
- Ability to operate with autonomy in a fast-paced environment where you may need to build procedures from scratch.
- Comfort collaborating across product, engineering, and operations teams to translate regulatory requirements into workable processes.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with banking regulators and examination processes.
