Developer Relation Lead

Token2049 is a leading Web3 conference and community platform connecting developers, founders, and innovators across Asia and globally. The company builds spaces—both digital and physical—where the brightest technical minds collaborate, learn, and ship products that push the industry forward.

As Developer Relations Lead on the Ecosystem & Community team, you'll be the face and voice of Token2049 to the global developer community. You'll own everything from designing and executing regional and global hackathons to representing the company at major conferences and technical forums. This is a full-time role based in Hong Kong or Singapore, and you'll travel 30-40% of the year to meet developers where they are.

Your day-to-day work spans several interconnected areas. You'll manage the complete lifecycle of hackathons—strategy, execution, logistics, and post-mortems—turning registrations into shipped projects that matter. You'll leverage your existing network of engineers and builders to drive adoption and engagement, while acting as the internal champion for developer experience. Simultaneously, you'll create technical onboarding materials optimized for fast-paced environments: quick-start repositories, boilerplate code, and tutorials that reduce friction. You'll also maintain a visible, authentic presence across GitHub, Discord, X, and Reddit, speaking at conferences, hosting workshops, and judging events alongside your core responsibilities.

To succeed here, you need genuine hackathon credentials. You've organized or deeply participated in major events like ETHGlobal or MLH, and you understand what keeps developers engaged during those intense all-nighters. Your network matters—you should arrive with an established, trusted web of relationships across engineers, open-source contributors, and technical communities. You can code confidently in at least one modern language (JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, Go, or Rust), build sample applications, debug integrations, and talk shop with senior engineers. Project management skills are essential: you'll coordinate marketing, logistics, metrics, and prizing across multiple simultaneous initiatives. Above all, you genuinely care about developer success and thrive on eliminating obstacles for builders.

We're looking for someone with 5+ years in Developer Relations, Developer Evangelism, or Community Engineering, backed by a portfolio of events or initiatives you personally led. A background in Web3, AI, or similar technical niches is a bonus. If you're a former software engineer who discovered you love people as much as code, or you've built a personal brand or technical blog with real following in developer circles, that strengthens your candidacy.
