Manager, Product Program Management

Anthropic is an AI safety company focused on developing reliable, interpretable, and steerable AI systems that benefit users and society. The organization brings together researchers, engineers, policy experts, and business leaders to advance safe AI development. As the company scales its Claude product, it needs strong operational infrastructure to support cross-functional work.

You'll manage Anthropic's Product Program Management function, overseeing the central operations team that transforms the company's most complex cross-functional challenges into executable programs. This role combines strategic oversight with hands-on operational leadership, positioning you to shape how Anthropic launches and scales products safely.

What you'll do

• Lead and build a team of managers and program managers across three operational pillars: Commercialization Operations (product launches, billing, promotions, pricing), Community and Executive Escalations Operations (social listening and product escalations), and Marketplace Operations (MCP Directory and plugin ecosystem management)

• Define team charter and priorities by deciding which cross-functional programs your organization takes on and which it scales, partnering with Product, Engineering, GTM, Finance, Legal and other stakeholders to align on priorities

• Incubate new programs through a small generalist team, run them until stable, then transition them to dedicated owners or mature them into standing functions

• Establish success metrics for each program and report progress through regular business reviews with Product leadership

• Provide coaching and career development to your direct reports while building a high-performing organization

• Partner with engineering teams to replace manual operational work with tooling and automation

What you'll bring

• 12 or more years in program management, business operations, or related roles at high-growth technology companies

• 5 or more years managing people, including experience managing managers

• Proven ability to build programs from inception and scale them into durable operations

• Strong experience with at least one of: commercial launches, billing and pricing operations, or marketplace and developer platform operations

• Excellent cross-functional influence and stakeholder management with those outside your direct reports, particularly executives

• Clear, concise communication: you can brief executives succinctly and write process documentation others can execute independently

• Prioritization and execution skills to rank competing requests from multiple departments and articulate tradeoffs

• Comfort operating in ambiguity with multiple competing priorities in a fast-moving environment

• Experience with multiple operational domains: commercial launches, billing operations, and marketplace operations

• Annual salary of 365,000 USD
