About the role
Quicknode is a blockchain infrastructure platform serving billions of requests daily for Web3 companies and developers worldwide. Backed by Tiger Global, Y Combinator, SoftBank, and other top-tier investors, the company operates a global team of over 110 people maintaining high-performance data infrastructure from offices in Fort Lauderdale and Lisbon. As a Senior Infrastructure Engineer on the Core Systems team, you'll be central to architecting and deploying the next generation of infrastructure platforms that blend bare-metal servers, virtualization, orchestration, and cloud technologies into hybrid environments that scale reliably across regions.
What you'll do
Research, architect, and deploy complex infrastructure across bare-metal, hypervisors, virtual machines, and containerized environments. Design and implement Infrastructure-as-Code and Configuration Management solutions using Terraform, Ansible, and Consul to ensure consistent, repeatable deployments at speed. Build and maintain infrastructure standards, documentation, and architecture diagrams that support scale and compliance. Collaborate with Technical Operations, CloudOps, and Platform teams to integrate systems smoothly, improve deployment pipelines, and enhance observability. Optimize resource allocation and cost efficiency without sacrificing performance and uptime. Drive resilience improvements through capacity planning, disaster recovery testing, and modernization work.
What you'll bring
At least five years in Systems Administration, Datacenter Operations, or Infrastructure Engineering with deep Linux/Unix expertise. Hands-on experience designing and managing hybrid cloud and traditional infrastructure at scale, including bare-metal, virtualized, and cloud-native environments. Proficiency with automation and configuration management tools like Terraform, Ansible, Consul, and Jenkins. Experience with monitoring and observability platforms such as Grafana, ELK, VictoriaMetrics, or DataDog. Programming capability in Python, Go, or JavaScript. Solid grasp of scalability, redundancy, fault tolerance, and cost optimization principles. Working knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and networking fundamentals across cloud and datacenter settings. A proactive, analytical approach to solving problems under pressure while championing continuous improvement. Strong written and verbal communication skills to align with cross-functional teams.
Nice to have
Container orchestration at enterprise scale. Experience in blockchain or Web3 infrastructure.
