Platform Engineer, Infrastructure

Helius runs its infrastructure on bare metal across a global edge network—a deliberate choice for performance and cost. That means the machines, network, and tooling are all built in-house. You'll join the Platform team to make this fleet faster to provision, safer to access, cheaper to run, and simple to deploy to. This intermediate role comes with real room to grow.

What you'll do

• Automate the complete server lifecycle: provisioning, OS installation, configuration, hardware validation, and decommissioning
• Build and maintain the tools your engineering team uses to interact with the fleet, eliminating manual machine configuration
• Standardize how software gets built and deployed across machines, including CI pipelines, artifact management, deployment tooling, and rollbacks
• Partner with your security lead to execute access controls, jump hosts, secrets management, least-privilege policies, and audit logging
• Run cost analysis on the fleet—per-workload costs, provider comparisons, hardware refresh decisions—and recommend optimizations
• Improve observability for your infrastructure, participate in on-call rotations, and respond to incidents
• Write runbooks and documentation so a remote team can operate what you build

You bring at least three years of infrastructure, DevOps, SRE, or platform engineering experience. You've worked hands-on with bare metal—provisioning physical servers, managing IPMI/BMC, configuring RAID and NICs, working with colo providers. You know Linux deeply: systemd, networking, storage, and performance tuning. You have solid experience with infrastructure-as-code tools like Ansible, Terraform, or Nix, and you can script or program in Python, Go, Bash, or similar languages. A security mindset is essential: you think about access, blast radius, and secrets by default. Ownership matters most to us—you treat systems as yours, fix problems end-to-end, and automate repetitive work away.

Nice to have

• Rust experience or comfort reading and debugging Rust services
• High-performance networking or low-latency systems background
• Familiarity with ClickHouse, Prometheus, or Grafana
• Experience at a high-scale B2B infrastructure company
