Senior Network Security Engineer

The Security team at Crypto.com is looking for a Senior Network Security Engineer to join us in San Francisco on a hybrid basis. You'll be the primary escalation point for resolving complex network infrastructure and security issues spanning on-premise data centers and AWS environments, working at a Level 3 support capacity where your expertise directly impacts system reliability and security.

Your day-to-day work will involve

• Configuring, maintaining, and optimizing FortiGate firewalls (both on-premises and AWS), Cisco ASA firewalls, and Akamai WAF and anti-DDoS solutions that protect our critical endpoints
• Troubleshooting and resolving network problems across Arista core and access switches, Cisco routers, F5 load balancers (LTM and GTM), and Infoblox DNS/DHCP systems
• Creating and updating detailed documentation on network topology, hybrid cloud architecture, security configurations, and operational procedures
• Partnering with DevOps teams to implement Infrastructure as Code practices that automate network deployments and security workflows
• Researching and deploying automation tools like Tines, n8n, and Dify to streamline security orchestration and network operations
• Standing by for non-office hour escalation support during critical incidents and major data center migrations

To succeed in this role, you'll need

• A degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent hands-on experience
• Proven experience operating and troubleshooting production networks across on-premises data centers and AWS
• Strong knowledge of firewall configuration, routing, switching, network security principles, and incident response procedures
• Working familiarity with BGP, OSPF, IPsec, HSRP, and QoS protocols
• Experience designing and managing hybrid cloud networks, including AWS VPC and AWS Direct Connect
• Ability to work independently, prioritize incidents under pressure, and communicate clearly with stakeholders during operational issues

Nice to have

• CCNP, CCIE, AWS Certified Advanced Networking, CISSP, or equivalent certifications
• Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code and network automation frameworks
• Background executing or supporting live data center to AWS migration cutover projects
