Senior Product Designer - Ethena Pay

Ethena Labs is building Ethena Pay, a mobile money application designed to bring stablecoin payments to everyday users. The app is live on iOS with Android in development, and the team is working to expand its capabilities and refine the user experience. You'll join as Senior Product Designer to set the design standard for this consumer-facing product and ensure it matches the quality of the world's best-designed applications.

Ethena Labs operates at the intersection of decentralized finance and consumer payments, focused on making synthetic dollar solutions accessible through intuitive mobile interfaces. The company values design as a core competitive advantage and is building a design practice that scales with its ambitions across multiple platforms.

What you'll do

• Audit the full app experience on both iOS and Android, then create a prioritized roadmap for what to maintain, improve or completely redesign based on your findings.

• Establish and implement a comprehensive design standard working alongside engineering: build a component library, define motion and interaction principles including timing, spring curves, haptic feedback and transitions, and create layout and typography rules that ship by default across all screens.

• Design for all states of the application, including loading, pending, error, limits and offline modes; establish clear display patterns for financial data so balances, rounding and settlement status are always transparent to users.

• Develop the app's communication voice through consistent terminology and error messaging that clearly explains what happened and what users should do next.

• Own the brand expression for Ethena Pay including design guidelines for marketing use, partner co-branding and card designs, and translate the app's best moments into social content, launch videos and app store materials.

• Bring the Android experience to feature parity with iOS using shared components, design tokens and motion language while determining where Material Design serves the product and where brand expression takes priority.

• Strengthen the design craft across the growing team through critique sessions, hands-on collaboration with engineers and designers, and lightweight research you conduct directly.

What you'll bring

• Proven experience designing shipped native mobile applications where design is a meaningful reason people choose the product; several years of demonstrated success in this space with a portfolio showing your work.

• Deep expertise in motion and interaction design including transitions, spring physics, gesture design and micro-interactions, documented through prototypes or recordings and specified with precision for engineering handoff.

• Senior-level product design experience on live neobanks, payments platforms, card products or cryptocurrency applications where design creates competitive advantage; alternatively, extensive work on consumer mobile apps recognized for exceptional design quality.

• A portfolio that showcases all application states beyond hero screens, with honest documentation of what shipped versus what was designed.

• Evidence of elevating others' craft: designers and engineers you've worked with show measurable improvement, and ideally you have experience auditing and rebuilding an existing application with its design system.

• Direct experience creating brand and marketing work including identity design, significant brand extensions, financial card artwork or launch campaigns and social content derived from product experience.

• Comfort with AI-native design workflows using tools like Figma MCP or Claude Code to accelerate your process while maintaining high craft standards, paired with clear judgment about tool limitations.

• Background in cryptocurrency, stablecoins or decentralized finance applications.

• Experience shipping products across multiple platforms simultaneously.
