Sr. AI Operations Specialist — Sales Operations

Databricks · New York, San Francisco, California, USCA · Full-time
◎ AI & ML📍 On-site
Salary not listed

About the role

Databricks is the data and AI platform trusted by over 20,000 organizations globally, from Fortune 500 companies to innovative startups, to build and scale data applications, analytics, and AI agents. The company operates from its San Francisco headquarters with offices spanning more than 30 locations worldwide and offers a comprehensive platform that integrates data management, AI capabilities, and automation tools.

The Sales Operations team at Databricks is undergoing a fundamental shift toward an AI-first model. Rather than relying on manual, high-volume processing, the organization is deploying AI agents to handle repetitive work autonomously while the team focuses on designing, governing, and enhancing these systems. This Senior AI Operations Specialist role sits at the center of that transformation, giving you the opportunity to directly influence how the company operates at scale.

What you'll do

  • Design and deploy AI agent workflows that automate critical Sales Operations processes, translating operational procedures into intelligent autonomous systems that handle field requests end-to-end
  • Manage a portfolio of automated workflows in production, including setting up escalation paths when human judgment is needed and continuously tuning agent performance
  • Lead systems improvement initiatives by identifying new processes ripe for automation, diagnosing integration problems across platforms, and coordinating data quality fixes
  • Collaborate across the organization with Sales, Finance, Strategy, and IT stakeholders to gather requirements, prioritize automation opportunities, and influence leadership on technical decisions
  • Contribute to major operational cycles including annual planning and ensure critical business processes remain stable and efficient

What you'll bring

  • Five to eight years of experience in operations, systems administration, or business process automation, preferably at growth-stage technology companies
  • Deep systems thinking with hands-on knowledge of APIs, data schemas, integration patterns, and how enterprise platforms connect and communicate
  • Comfort using large language models and agent platforms to solve operational problems, paired with sound judgment about when automation serves a purpose and when human involvement is essential
  • Direct experience building AI agents or developing automation workflows in production environments
  • Ability to think in terms of end-to-end processes rather than individual tasks, with a track record of designing and improving operational systems
  • Skill at gathering requirements across multiple teams and influencing director-level leadership on strategic priorities
  • Self-directed approach to problem-solving that leverages available tools to move forward rather than waiting for obstacles to resolve themselves

Nice to have

  • Experience working within high-growth technology environments managing large-scale operational transformations
  • Familiarity with Databricks products or similar data and AI platforms

What they offer

  • Base salary range of $100,000 to $171,950 USD depending on location and experience
  • Comprehensive benefits package tailored to your region
  • Eligibility for annual performance bonuses and equity compensation
  • Full-time employment with flexibility across New York and San Francisco locations
