Blockchain Security Expert Intern - AI Track

CertiK is a blockchain security company founded in 2018 by Yale and Columbia professors. They combine rigorous security practices with cutting-edge AI to protect critical blockchain infrastructure.

This internship focuses on developing an LLM-powered AI agent designed to strengthen CertiK's security audit platform. You'll work directly with the blockchain security team to turn advanced research into practical tools that automatically detect vulnerabilities in smart contracts and assess risk across blockchain systems. This is a chance to apply machine learning at scale in a fast-moving startup solving real-world security challenges.

What you'll do

• Design and build large language model-based AI agents integrated into CertiK's security audit tools
• Run experiments with novel AI techniques to improve threat detection and risk assessment in blockchain environments
• Help transition academic research on AI agents into production-ready security solutions
• Research emerging developments in LLM architectures, AI agent design, and cybersecurity, then recommend enhancements to the team

What you'll bring

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a PhD in Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, or related field with strong background in machine learning, natural language processing, or cybersecurity
• Deep knowledge of LLM architectures like transformers and hands-on experience fine-tuning or training these models
• Strong Python skills and working knowledge of deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow
• Analytical mindset, solid problem-solving ability, and capacity to adapt in a dynamic startup environment
• Clear communication skills in English, both written and verbal

Nice to have

• Previous research or projects building AI agents or automated security analysis systems
• Experience with security audit processes and vulnerability assessment in blockchain or smart contracts
• Familiarity with Solidity or other blockchain languages and platforms like Ethereum
• Published work or conference contributions in AI, NLP, or cybersecurity
