Mechanical Design Engineer

As Nebius expands high-density, GPU-driven data centers across APAC, the company is investing heavily in mechanical infrastructure to support its growing footprint. This role sits at the intersection of hardware design and operational excellence, where your work directly enables the infrastructure powering next-generation AI workloads.

What you'll do

• Review mechanical design packages for data center projects, including internal designs and deliverables from third-party partners and vendors.

• Develop and refine mechanical designs optimized for high-density data center environments supporting GPU workloads.

• Evaluate design approaches for both air-cooled and liquid-cooled data center architectures and assess their tradeoffs.

• Coordinate across electrical design, construction, commissioning and operations teams to ensure mechanical designs meet all requirements.

• Assess designs for maintainability, operational resilience, capacity planning and compliance with Nebius standards.

• Support technical design reviews focused on power density, airflow management, cooling capacity and commissioning readiness.

• Evaluate technical risks, alternative solutions and product options to guide engineering decisions.

What you'll bring

• Hands-on experience designing mechanical systems for data centers or mission-critical environments.

• Proven ability to evaluate mechanical capacity, fluid flows and design assumptions in complex systems.

• Expertise with air-cooled data center design and thermal management.

• Skill reviewing design documents, technical proposals, contracts and industry standards.

• Strong communication and stakeholder management across internal teams, external partners and construction crews.

• Engineering mindset that embraces broad ownership of mechanical design scope rather than narrow specialization.

• Ability to operate independently and take ownership of technical decisions.

Nice to have

• Experience with liquid-cooled data center systems and high-density rack environments (50kW to 200kW per rack).

• Background in hyper-scale, neocloud or GPU-focused infrastructure at companies like Lambda, CoreWeave or major colocation providers.

• Experience supporting design reviews through commissioning and operational handover phases.
