You'll join Ripple's Treasury Managed Services team as a Senior Derivative Accountant, taking on the role of technical expert for derivative accounting and hedge relationships across a diverse client portfolio. This hands-on position requires deep engagement with complex accounting standards, rigorous testing methodologies, and clear communication with treasury and finance teams at all levels.

What you'll do

• Manage the complete derivative accounting lifecycle for interest rate swaps, cross-currency swaps, FX forwards, options, and commodity derivatives across multiple client portfolios under ASC 815 and IFRS 9 standards.

• Develop and review hedge documentation, designation memos, risk management objectives, and conduct effectiveness testing using regression analysis, dollar-offset methods, and hypothetical derivative approaches on both prospective and retrospective bases.

• Prepare journal entries and financial statement disclosures related to hedging activities, respond to client questions, and provide technical analysis on fair value hedges, cash flow hedges, net investment hedges, and de-designation scenarios.

• Translate new FASB and IASB guidance into actionable summaries for clients and internal teams, then communicate findings clearly to diverse audiences.

• Lead audit support by preparing work product and engaging directly with external auditors on derivative and hedge accounting matters.

• Develop and refine internal methodologies, templates, and technical guidance to strengthen team capabilities.

What you'll bring

• Minimum five years of hands-on experience with derivative instruments and hedge accounting in public accounting, industry, or consulting roles.

• Advanced technical knowledge of ASC 815 and IFRS 9, including practical hedge accounting elections and disclosure requirements.

• Strong understanding of fair value measurement under ASC 820 and IFRS 13, plus familiarity with derivative valuation approaches.

• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple client engagements simultaneously with precision, organization, and reliability under tight deadlines.

• Clear communication skills that make complex accounting conclusions understandable to non-technical stakeholders.

• CPA or advanced degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.

Nice to have

• Experience with hedge accounting platforms such as Ripple Treasury, Chatham Financial, Reval, or FIS Quantum.
