$230K–330K / year

About the role

Polymarket is the world's largest prediction market platform, enabling millions of users to trade on real-world outcomes across politics, economics, sports, culture, and current affairs. The platform operates as a peer-to-peer marketplace with no centralized intermediary, aggregating diverse perspectives into transparent, market-based probabilities. With 21 billion dollars in trading volume during 2025 and growing adoption as an alternative news source, Polymarket is establishing itself as a critical infrastructure for understanding collective expectations about the future.

The company operates in a rapidly expanding sector. Web3 and prediction market platforms are attracting significant engineering talent and investment as blockchain technology matures and the market for decentralized finance infrastructure continues to grow. Polymarket's mission to become a beacon of truth in global media positions it at the intersection of finance, technology, and information markets—areas where engineering quality directly impacts user trust and market integrity.

We're hiring a Senior Web Engineer to own significant frontend features and systems across Polymarket's core product. You'll work end-to-end from feature scoping and implementation through launch, monitoring, and production support. This is a high-ownership position that bridges frontend product development, backend systems, performance optimization, and reliability practices. You should thrive in shipping complex React and Next.js features, debugging subtle production issues, and collaborating across teams with minimal guidance.

What you'll do

  • Own and ship complex features end-to-end across core product surfaces, making deliberate tradeoffs between speed, quality, architecture, and long-term maintainability.
  • Collaborate across the entire stack with backend engineers to design APIs, reason through data flows, and build reliable experiences on top of sophisticated systems.
  • Own reliability and incident response for your domain, monitoring dashboards and alerts to identify and respond to issues quickly, isolating root causes, and driving prevention work.
  • Improve frontend observability by building logs, metrics, alerts, dashboards, and error reporting that give the team visibility into system performance.
  • Identify and address technical debt, propose pragmatic refactors, and contribute to system design discussions that evolve frontend architecture as the product scales.
  • Connect technical work to measurable outcomes like performance, reliability, product quality, and conversion metrics.

What you'll bring

  • Five or more years of frontend web engineering experience with background in crypto, Web3, or financial infrastructure.
  • Strong hands-on experience with React, Next.js, TypeScript, and modern frontend development practices.
  • Solid instincts for frontend system design across state management, data fetching, caching, performance, and maintainability.
  • Track record owning complex features from scoping through production launch.
  • Strong debugging skills and hands-on experience responding to production incidents.
  • Comfort collaborating with backend engineers on APIs, data contracts, and system behavior.
  • High agency and product-mindedness—you notice problems, propose solutions, and drive work to completion while caring about user experience.
  • Ability to operate independently in a fast-moving, ambiguous environment with clear communication during planning, launches, and incidents.

Nice to have

  • Frontend performance specialization or experience improving frontend observability and alerting practices.
  • Background with high-traffic, real-time, marketplace, or trading products.
  • Experience building for WebViews or shared web and mobile surfaces.
  • Practical use of AI tools to improve engineering productivity.

What they offer

  • Base salary range of 230,000 to 330,000 dollars annually, plus equity and benefits.
  • Unlimited PTO, full health, vision, and dental coverage, and 401k match.
  • Hardware setup including new MacBook Pro, large display, and accessories.

Pay, location & hours

$230K–330K / year. Based in New York.
