Blockchain Engineer

Ondo Finance is building infrastructure to bring real-world assets onto blockchain networks through tokenization. The company operates at the intersection of traditional finance and decentralized systems, serving institutional and retail users who need secure, regulated, and operationally sound smart contract systems. This role sits at the heart of Ondo's technical strategy. As a Blockchain Engineer, you'll architect and maintain smart contract systems that power the company's Real World Asset tokenization platform. You won't just write contracts—you'll own the full lifecycle of security, deployment, upgrades, and the operational tooling that lets non-technical teams manage on-chain systems with confidence.

What you'll do

• Design and architect smart contract systems for Real World Asset tokenization across multiple blockchain ecosystems, with security and long-term maintainability as core concerns from day one.

• Own contract security throughout the entire lifecycle, from deployment through production—including upgrade safety, administrative controls, and the guardrails that keep systems secure as they evolve.

• Build tooling and automation systems that enable non-technical team members to safely view, monitor, and manage contracts without writing scripts or directly handling chain operations.

• Integrate smart contract design with the broader product ecosystem—working with web teams on clean integration, helping operations teams monitor systems effectively, and ensuring technical decisions flow coherently to end users.

• Partner with senior engineers and leadership on high-impact projects, making sound technical decisions that align with Ondo's long-term vision.

What you'll bring

• 3+ years of professional software engineering experience, with at least 1+ years specifically in blockchain engineering, ideally from a DeFi protocol deployed across multiple chains.

• Strong Solidity skills; exposure to non-EVM languages like Solana is a plus.

• Proven ability to design systems end-to-end—not just individual contracts, but tooling, automation, security architecture, and the integration points between contracts, applications, and operational workflows.

• Track record of building and scaling a DeFi protocol to production.

• Excellent technical and non-technical communication, both written and verbal.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.

• Strong judgment on prioritization and a genuine commitment to understanding the "why" behind requirements.

• Python and/or TypeScript experience for building tooling and automation systems.
