Core Architect & Integration Lead — Applied AI

The company's Applied AI team manages two interconnected systems: an internal Intelligence Core that serves as a system connectivity and control layer, and external agentic-commerce products. Zero Hash is seeking a Core Architect and Integration Lead to serve as the engineering backbone for both fronts, responsible for building the foundational infrastructure that connects company systems securely while producing verifiable records of agent actions.

What you'll do

• Build and maintain the access layer using native connectors, MCP servers, and Databricks deployments across US and EU regions, implementing short-lived tokens, least-privilege permissions, and zero-knowledge handling of sensitive data while respecting data residency requirements.

• Design and implement versioned schemas for signed credential and action records within a unified namespace, enabling cross-verification between record types.

• Establish build discipline from the outset, including deployment pipelines, authority policies as code, skill merge gates, and signed builds with software bill of materials.

• Create an authority lease service with integrated kill switches and build append-only, hash-chained logging systems that enable tamper-evident and independently verifiable auditing.

• Migrate existing agents to the Intelligence Core, launch department-specific agents, and conduct security reviews for continuous read access scenarios.

• Extend the Core from read-only to bounded write operations with logged actions, idempotency keys, compensating actions, and multi-approver time-locks for financial transactions.

• Design interoperability primitives for cross-institutional use, incorporating signed mandates, scoped authority, and attestation receipts compatible with standards like x402, AP2, and MPP.

What you'll bring

• Senior-level Python backend engineering experience with demonstrated production work in event-driven systems, API integration, and CI/CD pipelines.

• Hands-on experience composing and deploying LLM agents using platforms like Claude, GPT, Bedrock, or comparable services into production systems, with strong judgment about keeping models at the edges while maintaining deterministic control planes.

• Security-first instincts from regulated environments such as money services businesses, VASPs, or financial institutions, where least privilege and read-only access are fundamental reflexes.

• Working understanding of capability-based authorization, including attenuable tokens, workload identity, and policy-as-code approaches.

Nice to have

• Background with verifiable credentials, HTTP message signatures, or emerging agent-payment schemes such as x402, AP2, MPP, Visa TAP, or Mastercard Agent Pay.

• Experience with self-hosted LLM stacks or confidential computing and trusted execution environments.

• Research-oriented mindset with comfort operating independently in a foundational engineering role with wide scope.
