Engineering Manager, Wallet

Mysten Labs is building foundational infrastructure for blockchain-based protocols and the decentralized internet. The company raised a $300M Series B led by top-tier venture firms including Andreessen Horowitz, Jump Crypto, and Binance Labs. Mysten is remote-first and focused on bringing blockchain adoption to a global audience through developer-friendly tools and user-centric products.

You'll manage the engineering team behind Slush, Mysten's wallet available on web, browser extension, iOS, and Android. This is a high-stakes role: wallet errors can directly impact user assets and trust. You'll shape how people discover, understand, and interact with onchain activities across the Sui ecosystem while partnering with product, design, security, protocol, and ecosystem teams to balance technical tradeoffs against user needs.

What you'll do

• Lead, hire, coach, and retain engineers building wallet clients (web, browser extension, mobile), backend services, and onchain integrations.

• Set technical direction on account creation and recovery, key management, signing, transaction construction and simulation, dApp connectivity, asset management, swaps, and DeFi features.

• Create clear ownership and execution plans across all wallet platforms and supporting infrastructure.

• Raise standards for architecture, testing, release safety, observability, and incident response in an asset-sensitive product.

• Work with security and protocol teams to evaluate threats, manage dependencies, and make tradeoffs between usability, decentralization, privacy, and asset protection.

• Use data, user research, and ecosystem feedback to prioritize work and measure outcomes.

What you'll bring

• Experience managing software engineers, including senior engineers, in high-ownership product environments.

• Shipped production blockchain wallet functionality and understand self-custody, private-key security, signing, recovery, transaction lifecycle, and wallet-to-dApp patterns.

• Active DeFi user with hands-on fluency in liquidity, routing, slippage, staking, lending, bridges, and smart-contract risk.

• Strong systems judgment across client applications, backend services, APIs, SDKs, distributed dependencies, and operational response.

• Track record setting direction in ambiguous environments and delivering reliable products across multiple platforms.

• Ability to partner closely with product, design, security, and technical leaders while maintaining clear engineering accountability.

Nice to have

• Experience integrating DEXs, bridges, staking, lending, or fiat on and off-ramps into wallets.

• Familiarity with Sui, Move, programmable transaction blocks, zkLogin, or modern smart-contract platforms.

• Led products through rapid growth, high transaction volume, security reviews, or asset-impacting incidents.
