Senior Product Designer (Wallets)

Tether operates at the intersection of blockchain technology and global finance, stewarding the world's most widely used stablecoin, USDT, while simultaneously building infrastructure across energy solutions, data networks, and digital education. The company has established itself as a lean, fast-moving leader in fintech by maintaining a fully distributed team of talented professionals working across time zones. This role offers you the chance to shape how hundreds of millions of people experience ownership and control of their digital assets through thoughtful design work.

About Tether

Tether has become synonymous with blockchain-based finance through its flagship stablecoin offering, but the company's ambitions extend well beyond token infrastructure. The organization has invested in diversified divisions spanning renewable energy for Bitcoin mining, peer-to-peer communication technology, and educational platforms designed to democratize access to digital skills. This multi-faceted approach reflects Tether's philosophy: building systems that prioritize transparency, reduce friction in global transactions, and empower individuals across different economic contexts to participate in digital economies.

What you'll do

• Manage the complete design lifecycle for wallet products, from initial concept and interactive prototyping through to launch and ongoing refinement based on user feedback.

• Translate abstract product requirements and complex cryptocurrency concepts into intuitive, accessible experiences for first-time users and experienced traders alike.

• Create high-fidelity prototypes and interactive flows rapidly—within days rather than weeks—using Figma, modern prototyping platforms, and AI-assisted design tools to accelerate your ideation process.

• Collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, and research teams on a daily basis, clearly communicating design decisions and rationale to leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.

• Establish and maintain high design standards across all shipped features, actively identifying quality gaps and championing solutions before they reach users.

• Contribute strategic input on the product roadmap and long-term direction of wallet offerings, drawing on your understanding of user needs and technical constraints.

What you'll bring

• A minimum of five years of hands-on product design experience with a proven track record of shipping live products, ideally in wallets, cryptocurrency platforms, or financial technology.

• Advanced proficiency in visual design, interaction design, and interactive prototyping with demonstrated mastery across all three disciplines.

• Deep fluency in Figma and contemporary prototyping tools, including experience leveraging AI applications to streamline design workflows.

• Working knowledge of how blockchain networks operate, transaction fees, self-custody mechanics, and the user implications of these technical realities.

• Natural ability to distill complicated information and make counterintuitive concepts feel straightforward to people encountering them for the first time.

• Bias toward taking initiative: you recognize emerging problems and arrive at meetings with thoughtful solutions rather than just identifying challenges.

• Comfort operating in a high-velocity, sometimes uncertain environment where the team ships new features and improvements on a weekly cadence.
