Mobile Engineer - React Native (100% Remote)

The Data division at Tether is building next-generation peer-to-peer applications that prioritize privacy, security, and decentralized communication. This Mobile Engineer role focuses on developing Keet Mobile, Tether's P2P chat and calling application available on iOS and Android. You'll contribute to a product that combines cutting-edge peer-to-peer technology with a polished, responsive user experience available to global audiences.

What you'll do

• Develop and maintain features across chat, voice and video calls, media sharing, device pairing and identity backup in Keet Mobile
• Integrate native platform capabilities including push notifications, camera access, biometric authentication and background task handling for both iOS and Android
• Profile and optimize application performance on real devices, targeting improvements in startup time, chat responsiveness, media handling, battery consumption and network efficiency
• Write unit and end-to-end tests while maintaining release stability through CI pipelines and crash reporting analysis
• Collaborate closely with core peer-to-peer, design and product teams, participating in code reviews with high quality standards

What you'll bring

• Substantial hands-on experience developing with React Native, Redux for state management and Redux-Saga
• Advanced proficiency in JavaScript and ES6+ syntax and patterns
• Working knowledge of WebSockets and RESTful API integration
• Experience working effectively within remote team environments
• A drive to modernize and optimize mobile and web applications
• Strong English communication skills

Nice to have

• Familiarity with native languages such as Swift or Kotlin
• Experience with native build tools including Xcode or Android Studio
• Previous work building applications using peer-to-peer frameworks
