Automation QA Engineer (QVAC) (100% remote)

The team is hiring an Automation QA Engineer to ensure the reliability and quality of their desktop and mobile applications at scale.

What you'll do

• Design and maintain automated test suites for critical user flows across desktop and mobile platforms, ensuring comprehensive coverage of application functionality.
• Integrate your tests into CI/CD pipelines using tools like GitHub Actions, keeping test execution fast and dependable.
• Debug test failures, eliminate flaky tests, manage test data and environments, and collaborate with the team to maintain suite health.
• Execute functional, exploratory, and regression testing on new features, balancing manual effort with automation based on risk assessment.
• Document bugs with clear reproduction steps and verify that fixes resolve the issues completely.
• Partner with developers and product teams to improve testability, clarify acceptance criteria, and influence development practices.
• Evaluate when to automate versus test manually, maintaining comprehensive regression coverage while optimizing efficiency.

What you'll bring

• At least four years of professional QA automation experience combined with hands-on competency in manual and exploratory testing.
• Strong programming ability in TypeScript and JavaScript.
• Practical experience running tests in CI/CD environments, particularly GitHub Actions.
• Proficiency with Playwright for desktop and web testing, and WebdriverIO plus Appium for mobile testing.
• Demonstrated experience testing Electron and React Native applications on real iOS and Android devices.
• Familiarity with AI tools in QA workflows, including the ability to critically evaluate their output.
