Engineering Manager, Digital Assets

Ripple ✓ Verified · San Francisco, CA, United States · Full-time

About the role

Ripple is transforming global finance by enabling value to move as seamlessly as information. The company partners with financial institutions, businesses, and developers worldwide to modernize payment systems and create economic opportunity at scale. They're now tackling a major gap in the market: corporate treasury teams must choose between legacy platforms that don't handle digital assets or crypto-native tools that lack enterprise treasury fundamentals.

You'll lead engineering efforts to merge Ripple's digital asset capabilities—including XRP, RLUSD, tokenized assets, custody, and cross-border settlement—directly into the Ripple Treasury platform. This is greenfield work with no existing playbook. You'll join a small, experienced core team including an infrastructure engineer and product lead, expanding to up to four full-stack developers who will ship working software daily using a fast-moving Kanban process.

Your responsibilities span

  • Building and designing systems that integrate Ripple's digital asset functions with Treasury's enterprise platform, working closely with the core digital assets team to understand protocol capabilities and roadmap
  • Managing up to four full-stack .NET developers—recruiting, mentoring, and staying hands-on with production code, especially in early stages
  • Designing full-stack solutions using .NET backend services and Angular or React frontends, with enterprise-grade security, reliability, and auditability
  • Translating requirements from product, compliance, and treasury experts into shipped features that serve Fortune 500 CFOs and treasurers
  • Establishing engineering practices: coding standards, review processes, testing strategies, and deployment patterns suited to a pioneering, rapidly evolving effort
  • Making sound decisions with incomplete information and pivoting quickly as the team learns what works

You'll bring 7+ years of software engineering experience with strong full-stack capabilities in .NET and modern frontend frameworks. You've led engineering teams for 2+ years, handling recruitment and development. You've shipped products in fast-paced, ambiguous settings where requirements shifted. You have production fintech or blockchain experience—systems that moved real money or digital assets. You're comfortable leading pioneering work, thriving without a playbook, and writing production code alongside your team.

Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration are essential. You'll work daily with product managers, compliance teams, and external engineers.

Nice to have: deep knowledge of blockchain protocols, digital asset custody, tokenization, or cross-border settlement; experience with XRP Ledger or RLUSD; corporate treasury or treasury management systems background; integration experience between traditional finance and digital assets; familiarity with regulatory requirements for digital asset financial services.

This is a full-time, in-office role in San Francisco with flexibility—teams decide together on 10+ days per month for in-office collaboration. Base salary ranges from $212,000 to $265,000 annually, plus equity, bonuses, and comprehensive benefits including health care, retirement, and family support.
