Blockchain Security Expert - Chain Security Evaluation Track

CertiK is the leading platform for blockchain security, founded by Yale and Columbia computer science professors. The company uses formal verification technology to protect smart contracts and blockchains, having already audited and secured over $500B in digital assets across the industry's most prominent projects.

You'll join the Blockchain Security Engineering team as a Security Expert focused on chain security evaluation. In this role, you'll conduct detailed security assessments of blockchain infrastructure, from consensus mechanisms and validator behavior to networking layers and core chain modules. Your work will span multiple blockchain frameworks including Cosmos SDK, CometBFT, Geth, Hyperledger, and various L1/L2/L3 solutions.

Your day-to-day responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive security reviews of blockchain nodes, validators, consensus mechanisms, and mempool operations
• Analyze blockchain architecture across frameworks like Cosmos SDK, CometBFT, Go-Ethereum, Hyperledger Fabric, and Besu
• Spot security vulnerabilities tied to consensus safety, chain halting risks, permission model flaws, and block production weaknesses
• Write and execute custom test scripts in Python or Bash to simulate validator and network behaviors under stress conditions and edge cases
• Work with Docker and containerized environments to reproduce real-world scenarios

What you'll bring

• Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal
• Meticulous attention to detail, especially across complex multi-step testing and extended experiments
• Solid grasp of blockchain architecture and node internals, particularly Cosmos SDK/CometBFT, Geth, Hyperledger Fabric, and Besu
• Proficiency scripting and automating with Python or Bash
• Hands-on experience with Docker and container-based testing
• Prior Web3 security auditing work (preferred but not required)

Nice to have

• Background in manual blockchain security audits or vulnerability identification
