Compliance Engineer Intern

CertiK is a Web3 security company founded on research from Columbia and Yale Universities. The Compliance Engineering team is looking for an intern to support regulatory research, licensing analysis, and client deliverable preparation. You'll work across client-facing teams, compliance reviewers, and engineering to organize regulatory knowledge, prepare initial drafts, and build reusable compliance workflows and templates. All material regulatory conclusions will be reviewed by experienced compliance professionals before client delivery.

What you'll do

• Research and summarize regulatory frameworks and licensing requirements across jurisdictions
• Support licensing and regulatory-readiness projects including applicability research, gap analysis, evidence requests, and application-document preparation
• Organize regulatory requirements into structured modules, evidence categories, checklists, and mappings
• Review AI outputs for factual accuracy, source traceability, missing information, and formatting
• Prepare initial drafts of compliance analyses, evidence guidance, client reports, and review materials
• Maintain regulation-to-service mappings and evidence checklists for template reuse
• Track and coordinate requests across client teams, reviewers, and engineering
• Escalate unclear regulatory interpretations to experienced team members

What you'll bring

• Current enrollment or recent graduation in law, finance, accounting, risk management, public policy, business, computer science, or related field
• Strong research, analytical, and structured-writing skills
• Meticulous attention to detail, especially when reviewing regulatory sources and customer materials
• Ability to organize complex information into clear checklists, summaries, and reports
• Professional written and spoken English; Mandarin Chinese is a plus
• Interest in digital-asset regulation, financial compliance, or AI-assisted workflows
• Experience with compliance, audit, fintech, digital assets, or regulatory research through internships, coursework, or projects preferred
• Basic familiarity with LLM limitations and human-in-the-loop review processes preferred

Nice to have

• Knowledge of VASP licensing or similar regulatory frameworks
• Understanding of blockchain and cryptocurrency regulation

This is a remote internship for candidates based in Europe or Asia only. You cannot be based in the United States.
