The IT Operations team at Anthropic keeps the company running smoothly as it grows rapidly. You'll join this team as an IT Support Engineer, providing technical support to researchers and engineers while helping the organization scale its operations. This role combines hands-on troubleshooting with process improvement, and you'll have real ownership over your work and meaningful opportunities to shape how IT operations function across the company.
What you'll do
- Triage and resolve technical issues across hardware, software, networking, and user accounts using the ticketing system, Slack, and in-person support, primarily in a macOS environment
- Diagnose and troubleshoot problems across macOS, ChromeOS, iOS, Android, Google Workspace, Slack, GitHub, and Atlassian tools, including device enrollment, configuration profiles, and policy enforcement
- Support access management and employee lifecycle workflows including onboarding, offboarding, and organizational changes
- Write and maintain internal documentation including runbooks, guides, and knowledge base articles while identifying patterns in support requests to surface opportunities for automation
- Contribute to streamlining high-volume operations and scaling processes as the company grows
- Participate in on-call rotation for urgent issues outside standard business hours
- Assist with scripting in Bash or Python to automate repetitive tasks and improve team efficiency
What you'll bring
- Seven or more years of hands-on IT support experience, ideally in fast-paced or high-growth environments
- Strong expertise supporting macOS endpoints with comfort supporting ChromeOS, iOS, and Android devices
- Demonstrated experience administering Google Workspace and Slack workspaces, including permissions, workspace management, and troubleshooting
- Solid understanding of identity and access management fundamentals including SSO, MFA, and directory services
- Knowledge of MDM fundamentals and endpoint management concepts
- Excellent troubleshooting skills combined with genuine enthusiasm for helping people solve problems
- Ability to manage competing priorities, think beyond immediate fixes, and propose scalable process improvements
- Familiarity with basic scripting in Bash or Python
Nice to have
- Zero-trust security concepts and endpoint security tooling experience
- Networking fundamentals including DNS, DHCP, and VPNs
- Experience with IT projects beyond day-to-day support such as migrations or tool rollouts
- Experience using AI tools to enhance productivity
What they offer
- Annual salary between 180,000 and 230,000 USD
- Visa sponsorship available with immigration lawyer support
- Four-day per week in-office expectation based in New York, Tokyo, or Dublin
