About the role

Anthropic is building AI systems that are reliable, interpretable, and steerable. The company brings together researchers, engineers, policy experts, and business leaders to create AI that is safe and beneficial. As AI capabilities expand into enterprise and regulated environments, Anthropic is scaling its product infrastructure to meet the complex needs of customers who handle sensitive work.

The enterprise AI market is moving fast. Customers in banking, healthcare, government, and other regulated industries need granular control over how their data flows through AI systems. Anthropic has built layered controls into Claude across its first-party platform and cloud deployments, but the product surface that lets customers understand, govern, and verify these controls is still evolving. This role shapes that surface.

What you'll do

  • Engage with enterprise customers who have strict data handling requirements—from bank security leaders to healthcare compliance teams—and translate their needs into product requirements that balance competing internal stakeholder demands.
  • Partner with Privacy Engineering to design and ship controls that unblock regulated customers, weighing engineering effort against business impact and moving at Anthropic's pace.
  • Work with design-partner customers and their compliance teams to validate that shipped changes pass real audits and satisfy actual regulatory scrutiny, not just theoretical compliance frameworks.
  • Collaborate with engineering leadership to guide architectural decisions and investment sequencing for custody, data residency, and transparency capabilities across AWS, GCP, and Azure, balancing build versus buy versus platform provider solutions.
  • Define success metrics for privacy controls that prevent misconfiguration and reduce the time customers spend waiting for support to answer questions about their own data access and retention.
  • Own the self-serve compliance and security experience, deciding what customers can independently verify about their configuration, access history, and overall posture.
  • Synthesize competing priorities from privacy, safety, legal, and commercial teams, communicate trade-offs clearly to senior leadership, and ensure customers hear consistent messaging when issues arise.

What you'll bring

  • A track record taking new product areas from unclear requirements to a sustainable roadmap, with shipped controls that enterprises or regulators depend on.
  • Experience building platform capabilities that serve multiple customer segments and internal stakeholder groups simultaneously.
  • Judgment to make prioritization calls between customer demand, risk tolerance, and engineering cost, with clarity in explaining those decisions.
  • Deep knowledge of how privacy, safety, legal liability, and commercial outcomes interact, and the ability to translate that understanding into coherent product strategy.
  • Strong collaborative skills with engineers, cross-functional leaders, and external stakeholders—comfortable giving design feedback to engineers, negotiating with a CISO, and presenting risk analysis to executives.

Nice to have

  • Eight or more years of product management focused on privacy, security, or compliance products.
  • Experience building audit logging, key management, data residency, retention, or access governance products for regulated customers.
  • Prior work shipping controls across multiple cloud platforms or at the platform level with AWS, GCP, or Azure.
  • Familiarity with SOC 2, ISO 27001, FedRAMP, or similar certification and attestation programs.
  • Hands-on experience with Claude, Claude Code, or comparable AI tools, with formed perspectives on the data controls they should provide.

What they offer

  • Annual salary between 305,000 and 385,000 USD.
  • Visa sponsorship support; Anthropic retains immigration counsel and makes reasonable efforts to sponsor candidates who receive offers.
  • Hybrid work arrangement with expectation of in-office presence in San Francisco or New York at least 25% of the time.
