Software Engineer - Trade

The Trade team at BitGo is seeking a Software Engineer to develop and maintain critical financial services infrastructure. This is a full-time position based in the Toronto office, where you'll work collaboratively with the engineering team to build the systems powering the company's trading, lending, and settlement capabilities.

What you'll do

• Design and build resilient APIs, libraries, and services that support clearing and settlement, digital asset lending, trading, and liquidity operations
• Take ownership of features from initial design through deployment and customer integration, ensuring functionality and scalability
• Document and expose functionality to user interfaces, third-party developers, and internal tooling platforms
• Partner with engineering teams and product managers to align on technical requirements and maintain high quality standards
• Mentor peers through code reviews and knowledge sharing on engineering best practices

What you'll bring

• Proficiency in server-side languages such as Golang, TypeScript/Node.js, Java, or Python
• Experience building or supporting financial accounting systems including general ledger and bookkeeping functionality
• Working knowledge of SQL databases like MySQL or PostgreSQL
• Strong competency in RESTful API design and implementation
• Demonstrated expertise in unit testing, functional testing, debugging, and algorithm design
• Proficiency with Git, GitHub, code review workflows, and CI/CD tools
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, applied mathematics, or related technical field from a reputable university
• Genuine interest in cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology
• Ability to work independently in a dynamic, fast-paced environment

Nice to have

• At least one year of backend or server-side software development experience
• Experience with microservices architecture and distributed systems
• Familiarity with containerization and Kubernetes
• Background in the financial services industry
• Exposure to digital wallets, clearing systems, lending platforms, or trading infrastructure

• Base salary of 165,000 CAD annually
